The fabled Uncharted movie has actually entered production.

Actor Tom Holland has confirmed that production on the Uncharted movie has officially kicked off. Holland, who plays Nathan Drake in the movie, shared a picture on his Instagram of his folding chair on the set.

Today is the first day of production, per Holland, though he didn’t reveal any other details. This is, however, already the farthest any Uncharted movie has gotten. Recent reports suggested that Antonio Banderas will be joining Holland, and Mark Wahlberg (Sully), but Sony has yet to officially reveal the cast or even the title of the movie.

Holland often seemed excited about portraying Nathan Drake on the big screen, calling the movie’s script “one of the best scripts I’ve ever read.”

Venom director Ruben Fleischer is said to be at the helm, making him the seventh director to have been attached to an Uncharted movie. Before the pandemic, the movie was scheduled to open March 5, 2021, but who knows when we’re actually going to see it now.
